If you live anywhere near Long Island, I know what you’re thinking already – where are the best beach spots on Long Island for engagement photos?! Luckily for you, this is one of my favorite type of sessions.
Let’s face it, when it comes to picking a photoshoot location on Long Island, it can be overwhelming. There are so many towns, beaches, and parks to choose from! Once you narrow down the “vibe” you’re going for it’s easier to then research the best spot for your photoshoot.
If you’re a beach lover like myself – you might be drawn to get your photos taken where the sand meets the water, and on Long Island – you can usually reach the beach by driving 20-30 minutes North or South! The beach is such a beautiful backdrop for any photoshoot – whether it is your engagement photos, maternity photos, or even your actual WEDDING day! Here are just a few of my favorite beach spots on Long Island for engagement photos:
If you’re on the east end, nothing compares to Montauk beaches. Right by the Montauk Lighthouse – Camp Hero offers breathtaking views of the cliffside overlooking the ocean. It really feels like you are at “the end” of world here! It’s also a bonus that it is only a few minutes from the Lighthouse, and Montauk’s main street to get a nice variety of photos!
This is my go-to suggested beach spot for photoshoots in the spring, summer, fall and even winter! The summer can get crowded, so make sure to plan your photoshoot for golden hour, when less people are there. Field 5 offers views of the Fire Island Lighthouse, as well as a gorgeous pathway leading there, and the beautiful crashing waves! (Tip: if you’re up to bracing the cold, winter beach sessions can be STUNNING, and usually we’ll have the whole beach to ourselves!)
If you are on the North Shore, Cedar Beach is a great local beach spot for photos! Not only does it have a gorgeous view of the Long Island sound, but at the end there is a long boardwalk, and rock structures for a more dynamic and unique beach backdrop.
Another great North Shore pick, is the Kings Park Bluff. Only available to Town of Smithtown residents, this hidden gem has a beautiful staircase down to the water, along with cliffside overlooks if you head up on their short walking trails.

My approach to photography is simple: I focus on you. I want you to feel so comfortable in front of my lens that you almost forget it’s there. My goal is to help you feel at ease so that your most authentic emotions can shine through. Because those moments—the ones where you’re laughing, crying, or simply being present together—are the ones that matter most.
I truly believe that the best photos come from a place of trust. When you let go of the pressure to make everything “perfect” and simply allow yourself to be in the moment, that’s where the magic happens.
